Nature’s imagery of resilient trees and roots, panoramic views of mountains, rustic landscapes and night skies are some of the narratives found in Floyd’s work.

Persuaded by the ways in which light plays off the etched and scratched surface, he is constantly pushing the boundaries of what can naturally occur with this malleable and forgiving material of steel & stainless steel.

Polishing, burnishing, sanding, grinding, rusting and heat treatment are applied to the steel to create the colour palette, create textures and produce the illusion of depth through the reflection of light.
